Across modern civilization, bizarre biological entities known as Moimon suddenly emerged into the world. Possessing rounded forms and disarming facial features, these creatures were initially categorized as harmless fauna and integrated into human society through commercial training, domestic companionship, and labor exploitation. That equilibrium breaks when wild variants begin exhibiting unprecedented aggression, growing massive fangs, armor-plated hides, and insatiable predatory instincts that turn settlements into slaughterhouses.

Kakeru, a young hunter belonging to the isolated Karura warrior tribe, has spent his entire life hunting predatory fauna using pure physical conditioning, superhuman strength, and close-quarters combat. When the rampage reaches crisis levels, Kakeru teams up with Shimizu, an aspiring explorer determined to uncover the biological trigger behind the outbreak. Their trek takes them directly into the untamed Mouryou Forest, where lethal SS-rank Moimon engage in brutal territorial wars. As Kakeru battles mutated monstrosities with his bare hands, corporate operatives from the shadowy Emzen headquarters execute covert plans to eliminate him before he exposes the artificial origins of the creature pandemic.

What to Expect

Moimon subverts traditional creature-collecting conventions by presenting high-impact physical brawls and body horror. Kizuku pairs stylized character designs with visceral creature transformations, contrasting cute exteriors with grotesque anatomical mutations. Combat avoids passive magical summoning, focusing instead on heavy kinetic strikes, grappling, and tactical anatomy exploitation. Pacing escalates quickly from localized survival encounters to large-scale wilderness expeditions and corporate espionage arcs.

Who Will Enjoy This

This manga is suited for readers who appreciate dark monster-hunting narratives where physical combat takes precedence over system menus or magical familiars. Fans of intense urban dark fantasy and uncanny creature designs will find immediate common ground with Chainsaw Man for its blend of offbeat humor, escalating bloodshed, and monstrous transformations. Readers who enjoy eerie, supernatural entities and high-stakes survival ecology will also appreciate After God, which shares a similar focus on bizarre godlike lifeforms clashing with human resilience.
