The martial arts realm fell into ruin when the unrivaled monster Mugi Hwa swept across the Central Plains, annihilating sect leaders, heavenly lords, and even Cheonma, the supreme leader of the Heavenly Demon Cult. Left powerless and grieving the complete destruction of his clan, Geom Mugeuk rejected despair. He dedicated forty excruciating years in exile to acquire the esoteric components for the forbidden Great Regression Technique. When the ritual ignites, Mugeuk hurls his consciousness four decades backward into his physical youth, waking up in the Cult before the catastrophe began.

Armed with comprehensive future intelligence, Mugeuk knows that solitary martial grinding cannot conquer Mugi Hwa's monstrous talent. Instead, he pursues a radically different path: winning the recognition of his aloof father Cheonma, systematically converting hostile cult factions into loyal confidants, and resolving internal succession struggles through strategic diplomacy and psychological insight. By safeguarding allies he once abandoned and disarming internal betrayals before they surface, Mugeuk constructs an unbreakable coalition ready to face the looming storm.

What to Expect

Unlike conventional power-fantasy regression manhwa where the lead relies purely on cheat abilities, Absolute Regression balances visceral wuxia swordplay with intricate political strategy. Pacing balances tactical conversations, sect maneuvering, and father-son character dynamics with explosive, fluid martial choreography drawn by Park Jin-hwan. Readers follow structured internal power struggles within the Heavenly Demon Cult, calculated affinity-building among hostile commanders, and methodical preparation against external invasions.
