Raised as a subjugated battle slave within the Barsburg Empire Military Academy, Teito Klein survives on razor-sharp combat instincts and his mastery of Zaiphon, a rare power that materializes thoughts into offensive magic scripts. Alongside his devoted classmate Mikage Celestine, Teito passes the grueling graduation trials, earning a coveted position among elite imperial officers. That fragile future shatters when Teito encounters Chief of Staff Ayanami. The chilling sight unseals suppressed childhood memories, identifying Ayanami as the butcher who slaughtering Teito's father and decimated the kingdom of Raggs.

Branded a traitor after a failed assassination attempt against Ayanami, Teito escapes the imperial stronghold aboard a stolen glider, crash-landing inside the sacred borders of the Seventh District Church. Shielded by universal sanctuary laws and defended by unorthodox bishops Frau, Castor, and Labrador, Teito discovers that his sealed body contains the Eye of Mikhail, a holy relic sought by imperial warmongers to conquer the continent. Pursued relentlessly by imperial assassins, dark spirits known as Kor, and military divisions, Teito undertakes the perilous Bishop Exam to traverse imperial territories legally, unravel his royal heritage, and awaken the mythological Seven Ghosts.

What to Expect

07-Ghost delivers methodical tactical pacing anchored in religious symbolism, high-stakes military espionage, and metaphysical combat. Encounters rely on distinct Zaiphon disciplines ranging from offensive blasts and runic shields to curative chants, where raw strength loses out against strategic preparation. The narrative structure balances the intense psychological trauma of memory loss against uplifting themes of brotherhood, found family, and spiritual redemption across the Academy Infiltration, Bishop Exam, and Raggs Retribution arcs.
