Ryu Hanbin is an ordinary young man recently discharged from mandatory military service who suddenly finds himself abducted and thrust into an unfamiliar dimension. Transferred to undergo orientation as a chosen Earthling, Hanbin receives a defective Guideline system. While other summoned humans level up rapidly and receive clear objectives, Hanbin becomes trapped in a barren tutorial hellscape populated by demonic Great Hellhounds. His interface repeatedly resets his level whenever he approaches level 5, locking his visible rank while allowing his physical musculature, endurance, and raw combat instincts to compound across decades of isolated, brutal survival.

When the malfunctioning system finally releases him onto the continent of Latna, Hanbin discovers an unforgiving reality. Earthlings, termed Otherworlders, are hunted down across the world as destructive sociopaths corrupted by their own Guidelines. To avoid summary execution by native inquisitors and kingdoms, Hanbin adopts the alias Eric and conceals his true origin. Allied with Atisse, a polymorphed red dragon mage, and Ephyr, an evolving wyvern scout, Hanbin navigates Latna while grappling with psychological trauma, corrupt divine pantheons, and rival Otherworlders whose quest for murder points threatens the balance of the realm.

What to Expect

The narrative balances heavy psychological consequences with visceral physical choreography. Rather than relying on mystical incantations, Hanbin's combat relies on immense kinetic force, raw blade pressure, and foundational swordsmanship that overpowers specialized magical arts. Strategic depth surfaces through the squad's need to conceal Hanbin's alien identity from inquisitorial artifacts while navigating Latna's complex political factions, the machinations of the Goddess of Darkness, and escalating encounters across the Blood Tree and Great Labyrinth arcs.

Who Will Enjoy This

This series appeals to readers searching for subversions of the overpowered protagonist archetype where psychological strain, trauma recovery, and systemic consequences drive the narrative. Readers looking for titles with tactical power scaling and ensemble party growth will find strong parallels in Solo Leveling for high-octane physical progression against demonic entities, and A Returner's Magic Should Be Special for party-based tactical encounters that overcome overwhelming odds through preparation and mechanical synergy.
